Last night, I stopped by one of my favorite places—Il Bel Lago, a warm and soulful little Italian restaurant. I’ve always loved food from everywhere, but this place is more than a meal—it’s an experience.
As I waited for my takeout, I caught up with Carmello, the owner, and a few others who make the place feel like home. The customer service, the warmth—it reminded me why supporting local matters. While there, a young man noticed my bank hat and struck up a conversation. He shared his dream of doing small-scale development and how hard it’s been getting attention from his large bank. He’s looking for real partnership—and I was reminded again why presence matters.
Today, I’m grateful for the neighborhood gems that feed both body and spirit—and for the chance encounters that remind us we’re all trying to build something.
Support local. Support local restaurants.
