I’m grateful for the power of storytelling and for stories that remind us of our capacity to rise, even when others bet against us. I just finished watching the F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. It’s more than a racing film, it’s a mirror held up to life. The themes of grit, redemption, legacy, and heart reminded me that great stories imitate life, and life often writes the most unbelievable scripts.
Storytelling resonates so deeply because it allows us to see ourselves—our struggles, our comebacks, and the choices we make in the middle of the race. I’ve lived a version of that script. I’ve worked in an industry where someone actively bet against me—counting on my failure, positioning themselves to benefit if I lost. They pretended to support me, all the while working against me, knowing the odds of my success were slim—especially because I was new to the industry. As the plan became more evident, I felt the weight of frustration. But I didn’t let that frustration overtake me. Here’s the thing: the underdog doesn’t always lose. Especially not when their purpose is rooted in something greater. I’ve come to learn that divine grace, resilience, and clarity of mission can outpace even the most calculated opposition.
The F1 movie reminded me that sometimes, the ones they count out are the very ones who go on to write history.
