The last two weeks have been intense—full of strategy sessions, planning, and engaging deeply with my team. I woke up this morning feeling the toll of that intensity, knowing I was supposed to fly to DC for a volunteer commission I serve on. But when I reviewed the schedule, I realized that the timing just didn’t make sense. With a critical bank board meeting the very next day and another trip later this week, it would have been too much strain.
I had just enough wiggle room in my schedule to make a different decision—one that preserves my energy and focus. And the truth is, it took some reframing and grace to accept that I don’t need to be everywhere. Today, I’m giving thanks for the freedom to adjust, the wisdom to discern what’s necessary, and the grace to be okay with saying “not this time.”
