Gratitude Focus: Today, I’m Grateful For The Glistening Sun

Written by Orvin Kimbrough | June 02, 2026

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

I’m sitting in my kitchen, looking out at the lake, watching the sun dance across the water. It’s one of those quiet, breathtaking moments that stops you without asking permission. No agenda. No rush. Just beauty doing what beauty does.

I’m grateful for God’s creativity. For the way His presence shows up in light and reflection, in stillness and calm. There’s a peace that comes from simply sitting still—standing still—watching the sun do its thing on the water. No striving. No fixing. Just being present.

In moments like this, I’m reminded that stillness isn’t passive. It’s an invitation. An invitation to notice. To breathe. To trust.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

— Psalm 46:10
