Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
Recently, I received a message—either a call or a LinkedIn note—from someone I’ve known for many years. She’s invested in the bank, and she reached out because she wanted to understand more about the platform I’m building—The First Move.
We set up time to talk.
She shared that she’d been watching my social media posts over the last several months and was genuinely struck by the work I’ve been doing. So much so that she paused and asked herself, Is he still leading the bank? She checked—and saw that I was—while also doing all these other things centered on helping people grow, stretch, and move to their next level.
During our conversation, I explained that anything I do outside the bank has to be congruent. It can’t compete with the bank. It has to support the broader ecosystem. And the bank is a core part of that ecosystem.
She said, “I noticed.”
She appreciated the capacity to think across all of it—to hold multiple lanes at once and still move toward a bigger vision. What stood out to me most was her naming something deeper. She said she could see that my focus—whether through the bank or beyond it—is helping people see something in themselves that they may not yet see.
Then she said something that truly humbled me.
She shared that she wanted to be a part of the transformation I’m trying to bring about.
For that, I’m incredibly honored. And deeply grateful.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
Who has noticed your quiet, consistent work, and how might that recognition be an invitation into something bigger?
